Morgan’s Kitchen Firepit and Grant Award, September 9, 2025

Boy Scout Evan Kennedy from Scout Troop 146 created and installed a beautiful stone firepit and handmade wooden benches at Morgan’s Kitchen this summer as part of his Eagle Scout project. We love the additions and look forward to hosting upcoming events in the space. Thank you, Evan (and team), for all of your hard work!

We were joined at the dedication by special guests Delegate Walter Hall, Commissioner Lance Wheeler, and Mayor Scott James to celebrate not only the completion of the fire pit, but an award of an additional $10,000 WV Legislature Local Economic Development Grant requested by Del Hall and approved by Governor Morrisey, which will go toward ongoing preservation efforts of Morgan’s Kitchen. This was a great morning to celebrate community and history in St. Albans. It truly takes the cooperation and support of many-and we are grateful!
